Wix and 10Web both build a website from a description of your business, but they hand you very different things afterwards. Wix is a fully managed platform: describe your site and its AI generates it, then you edit with drag and drop or with its AI assistant. Hosting, security and monitoring are included, with 2,000+ templates, an App Market and built-in business tools for bookings, stores, CRM, email marketing and SEO. You can start for free.

10Web generates your site on WordPress. AI agents take it from prompt to a production site, hosted on 10Web's WordPress infrastructure with SSL, backups, staging and a CDN, with WooCommerce pre-configured for stores and access to the wider WordPress plugin ecosystem. It also offers a PageSpeed Booster and white-label options for agencies.

Our verdict

Wix leads for most readers because it is the least work to own. There is no server, plugin or update to manage, the business tools are already built in, and you can build and test the whole site free before paying. For a small business, a portfolio or a first online store, that combination gets you live fastest and keeps you there with the least maintenance.

10Web is the better pick if you want the speed of an AI builder without leaving WordPress. You keep access to tens of thousands of plugins, can hire any WordPress developer later, and get a ready WooCommerce setup for selling. Agencies building sites for clients may also value its white-label option. The trade-off is that a WordPress site carries more upkeep than a Wix one, even on managed hosting.

Think about where your site will be in a few years: if you expect to need custom features or a developer, starting on WordPress keeps more doors open.
