Link Cleaner

Removes tracking codes from links before you share them.

Free. Runs in your browser: nothing you enter or open is uploaded.

Links are cleaned in your browser as you paste. Nothing is opened or sent.

    How to use it

    1. Paste a link, a list of links or a whole message into the box.
    2. Each link is cleaned straight away: tracking codes are removed and known redirect wrappers are unwrapped to the real address.
    3. Copy a single clean link, all of them, or the whole message with the clean links put back in.

    Questions

    What are tracking parameters?

Extra codes added after a question mark, such as utm_source, fbclid or gclid. They tell the site and advertisers where a click came from and sometimes who shared it. The page works the same without them.

Can removing them break a link?

The tool only removes codes known to be used for tracking and keeps everything else, such as a product number or a search term. If a cleaned link ever misbehaves, use the original.

Why can short links like t.co or bit.ly not be cleaned?

A short link hides the real address on the shortening service. Finding it means opening the link, which this tool never does. Open it once in a private window, then paste the address it lands on.

What does unwrapping a redirect mean?

Google results, Facebook, Reddit and others wrap outgoing links in their own address so they can log the click. When the real address is inside the wrapped link, the tool pulls it out.
