Our verdict
This Simplified review looks at a marketing workspace that has grown from an AI design and writing app into a platform that runs whole campaigns through a chain of AI agents. You describe a campaign in plain language, and Simplified drafts the copy, builds the visuals at the right sizes for each channel, queues the work for approval and then schedules it to social networks and ad platforms. For a small marketing team or an agency juggling several brands, that combination of creative tools and workflow automation in one place is its main attraction.
It earns our Best Marketing Flows award on the AI workflow automation page and Best All-in-One on the AI advertising page because few tools cover brief, creative, approval and publishing in one product. It is not a general automation tool. If you want to connect a CRM to a spreadsheet to a support desk, a dedicated workflow platform is the right choice. Simplified's individual editors are also less deep than specialist design and video software, independent reviewers report occasional quality and performance problems, and its own privacy page says full GDPR and CCPA compliance is still coming.
NerdBible did not carry out its own hands-on trial for this review. It is an editorial assessment based on Simplified's own pages, including its pricing, workflow, developer and privacy pages, and on the independent reviews and user review platforms credited and linked below.
What is Simplified and who is it for?
Simplified is made by TLDR Technologies, Inc., according to the footer of its home page. The company describes the product as an operating system for marketing built around an AI agent called Riley that plans, creates and publishes campaigns from start to finish. Underneath the agent layer sit the tools Simplified has offered for years: an AI design editor, an AI writer, a video editor, an ad generator, a presentation maker, brand kits, and a social calendar with inbox and analytics.
It suits these buyers best:
- Small marketing teams that would otherwise pay for a design tool, a copywriting tool, a video editor and a social scheduler separately.
- Agencies that need separate workspaces per client, brand kits and a client review step before anything goes live.
- Founders and solo marketers who want repeatable social and ad output without stitching tools together.
It is a poorer match for designers who need professional-grade editing control, for video teams producing long or complex edits, and for operations teams whose automation needs have nothing to do with marketing content.
Key features
Agent-run workflows
The AI workflows page describes seven agents that hand context to one another: a brief agent that reads your goal, audience and tone; a research agent that looks at competitor positioning and trending angles; a writing agent; a design agent that produces correctly sized visuals; an approval agent that routes work to people with an audit trail; a publishing agent that picks posting times; and an analysis agent that feeds results back into later runs. Ready-made templates include turning an article into a set of social posts, a content calendar generator, a Meta ads strategy, an email newsletter pipeline, an SEO blog pipeline, a product launch campaign and LinkedIn thought leadership.
Brand kits and approvals
Brand kits hold voice guidelines, colours, fonts and logos, and Simplified says they apply to every agent's output. Approval gates can sit anywhere in a workflow, so work waits as a draft until someone signs it off. For agencies, client review lets an outside stakeholder approve work without a full account.
Creative tools you can use on their own
The pricing page states that every plan includes the design, video, writing and social scheduling tools on their own, and that the agent layer is additional rather than a replacement. That matters, because many buyers will spend more time in the editors than in the agents. Ad resizing across formats, AI copy for ads and posts, and multi-channel social and display output are the core of what the product does well.
Model choice and developer access
The workflows page lists a choice of AI models per step, from several major model families, with bring-your-own-key options for enterprise customers. Simplified also offers a REST API, webhooks, a command line tool and an open source MCP server, which lets AI assistants such as coding agents create assets, use brand kits, schedule posts across its supported social platforms and route drafts for approval. That is unusual for a marketing design product and useful for technical teams.
Integrations
Simplified lists publishing to more than ten social and ad destinations, including Meta and TikTok ads, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube, plus syncs with tools such as Notion, Google Analytics, Google Ads and Slack. The workflows page claims hundreds of native integrations, including HubSpot, Salesforce and WordPress. Capterra reviewers, by contrast, list limited third-party integrations among their complaints, so check the specific connections you rely on.
How much does Simplified cost?
Our product card shows current prices from our own data, so this section covers structure only. The pricing page lists three paid tiers, Starter, Pro and Business, each with monthly and annual billing. The key unit is the campaign: one brief-to-approval cycle that produces a social batch, an email sequence or a set of ad creative variants. Each tier includes a monthly number of campaigns, which do not roll over, and extra campaigns can be bought one at a time without upgrading.
- Starter is a single seat with caps on AI words, designs and videos, a handful of social accounts and one brand kit.
- Pro adds team seats, more campaigns and social accounts, several brand kits and unlimited AI words, designs and videos.
- Business raises seats and campaigns again and adds bulk scheduling, client approval workflows, campaign analytics and unlimited brand kits.
The pricing page offers a trial with Starter-level access. A free plan is harder to pin down: the home page says Simplified is free to start with no credit card, and the MCP page describes a free plan with a small number of social accounts and scheduled posts, but the pricing page itself only lists paid tiers. Expect the free option to be a limited starting point rather than a working plan for a team. You can change or cancel at any time from account settings, with downgrades taking effect at the next billing period.
Is Simplified safe to use for client work?
The Simplified privacy policy is written in plain language and makes three clear commitments: user content is not used to train general AI models, data is not sold, and personal information is removed within thirty days of account closure. Security is described as HTTPS encryption, access controls and regular security reviews. A data processing agreement is available on request for enterprise customers.
The weak point is formal compliance. The same page states that full GDPR and CCPA compliance is coming soon, and that formal safeguards for transfers of European data to the United States, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, are not yet in place. The policy does not name its AI subprocessors or cite an independent security certification. For a freelancer creating social posts that may be acceptable. For an agency holding client data from the European Economic Area, or any business with a vendor review process, it is a real gap to raise before signing.
The approval gates are the other safety feature worth using. Automated publishing to company accounts is only as safe as the review step in front of it, so keep human approval switched on for anything public.
What could be better
- Breadth over depth. Several reviewers find that the individual editors fall short of dedicated design and video software.
- Uneven AI output. Trustpilot and Capterra users mention errors in generated video, spelling mistakes and generic copy that needs editing.
- Performance. Lag on larger files is a recurring complaint.
- Compliance still in progress. Full GDPR and CCPA compliance is described as coming soon.
- Usage caps. Campaigns are capped per month and do not roll over, and Capterra users say free allowances run out quickly.
- Pricing clarity. The free option is described differently on different pages of the vendor's own site.
Who should choose something else?
If your goal is general business automation, connecting apps, moving data and triggering actions across departments, a dedicated workflow platform higher on our ranking will serve you far better. If you are a professional designer or video editor, specialist tools give you more control. If you only need occasional social graphics, a free design app may be enough. And if your organisation needs documented GDPR safeguards today, wait until Simplified publishes them or choose a vendor that already has.
Is Simplified worth it?
For small marketing teams and agencies whose bottleneck is getting from idea to approved, published content across several channels, it is worth a trial. The value comes from having the brief, the creative, the brand rules, the approval and the schedule in one place, which cuts the handoffs between tools that slow most teams down. The case weakens if you need best-in-class creative quality from each editor, or if your automation needs extend beyond marketing. Use the trial to run one real campaign end to end and judge the output against what your current tools produce.
What other reviewers found
- Capterra reviewers rate it well for ease of use and value its all-in-one approach, but repeatedly mention cost for solo users, allowances that run out quickly and inconsistent support.
- On Trustpilot, customers praise how quickly they can produce captions and content, while complaints focus on errors in generated video, a learning curve for some features and slow performance; the profile notes the company had not replied to negative reviews.
- AI with Kay gave it a middling score, valuing the shared brand kit and free tier but finding each tool weaker than a dedicated alternative, with slow handling of large files and distorted AI faces.
- A small set of users on Product Hunt found it easier to use than Canva for mixed design, writing and video work, while some reported reduced free limits, lost document data and social connection problems.
- is*hosting found it easy to learn for people without design training and praised its support, while listing occasional technical errors, a limited content library and weaker translation quality outside English.
Where the sources agree: Simplified's strength is breadth and convenience. Reviewers across platforms like having design, copy, video and scheduling in one workspace, and find it approachable. Where they disagree is on quality and value. User review sites are broadly positive and is*hosting was warm, while AI with Kay and a share of Trustpilot and Capterra users are more reserved about the depth of each tool and the quality of AI output. For a buyer, that means Simplified is best judged as a team productivity tool, not as a replacement for a designer. If convenience is the problem you are solving, the reviews support it; if creative quality is, they suggest caution.
Bottom line
Simplified is a capable all-in-one marketing workspace with an agent layer that can take a campaign from brief to scheduled posts and ad creative, with approvals along the way. It fits small teams and agencies that value fewer tools and fewer handoffs. Check its compliance position if you handle European data, keep human approval in every workflow, and test output quality on a real campaign before you commit.
Frequently asked questions
What is Simplified used for?
Simplified is a marketing workspace for creating and publishing content. It combines an AI design editor, AI writer, video editor, ad generator and social media scheduler with brand kits and approval workflows. Its AI agents can take a plain-language brief and produce a batch of social posts, an email sequence or a set of ad creatives, then queue them for approval and schedule them across connected social and ad platforms.
Does Simplified have a free plan?
Simplified says it is free to start with no credit card, and its developer page describes a free plan with a small number of connected social accounts and scheduled posts. The pricing page lists only paid tiers, Starter, Pro and Business, and offers a trial with Starter access. Treat the free option as a way to explore the tools rather than a plan a team can run on.
Is Simplified good for workflow automation?
For marketing workflows, yes. Its agents cover briefing, research, writing, design, approval, publishing and analysis, with templates for common campaigns. It is not a general automation platform, though. If you need to connect business apps, move data between systems or automate tasks outside marketing, a dedicated workflow automation tool is the better choice, and Simplified can sit alongside it.
Does Simplified use my content to train AI?
No, according to its privacy policy. Simplified states that it does not use user content, or data accessed through Google Workspace connections, to train general AI or machine learning models, and that it does not sell data. It also says personal information is removed within thirty days of closing an account. Note that the same page says full GDPR and CCPA compliance is still in progress.
Can teams and agencies collaborate in Simplified?
Yes. Higher tiers include several team seats, multiple brand kits and separate workspaces for different brands or clients. Approval gates hold work as drafts until someone signs it off, and the top tier adds client approval workflows so an outside stakeholder can review work before it is published. Seat counts and brand kit limits vary by plan, so match the tier to your team size.
