Zoom Phone is the business phone system bolted onto the video platform most teams already have open all day. That is its whole argument: one app for calls, meetings and chat, one bill, one admin portal.

The entry plan bundles Phone US and Canada Unlimited onto Zoom Workplace Basic at $16 per user per month on annual billing, with metered calling available at $10.50 if your team makes few outbound calls. Unlimited domestic calling, SMS and MMS, 50 pages of online fax and a domestic number are all included, as is call recording and the AI layer that writes post-call summaries and pulls out follow-up tasks.

The catch at that price is the meeting side, not the phone side. Workplace Basic caps meetings at 40 minutes and 100 participants, so a team that lives in long calls wants Workplace Pro Plus at $20.50, which is still competitive against RingCentral and Nextiva at $20. Deep call centre routing is a separate Zoom product rather than a tier of this one.

Zoom is the pick when video is the centre of how you work and the phone line is the thing you are adding. If the phone system is the centre and video is incidental, RingCentral gives you more PBX depth for the same money.
