Jackery makes portable power stations from small Explorer units of around 300Wh up to the Explorer 5000 Plus and HomePower range for home backup, plus bundles with its SolarSaga solar panels. Its Explorer 1000 v2, for example, holds 1070Wh in what Jackery calls the smallest and lightest 1kWh LiFePO4 unit, recharges fully in about an hour in its emergency charge mode, runs quietly and can be monitored from an app. Units bought directly from Jackery carry a five-year warranty.

EcoFlow sells the RIVER and DELTA portable lines and whole-home systems such as DELTA Pro Ultra. Its X-Stream charging lets the DELTA 3 Plus go from empty to full in under an hour on AC, the unit accepts five charging methods including solar and an alternator charger, and it expands with extra batteries. Everything is managed through the EcoFlow app.

The real difference: Jackery prioritises simple, portable units with matching solar panels, while EcoFlow leans into fast charging and expandable systems that grow toward home backup.

Our verdict

Jackery is the better choice for most buyers, especially for camping, RV trips, tailgating and keeping essentials running through a short outage. Its units are compact for their capacity, quiet, and easy to pair with SolarSaga panels sold as ready-made solar generator bundles, so there is little to work out before your first trip. The long warranty on direct purchases and a wide range of capacities make it easy to buy once and buy right. That simplicity and reliability is why it leads our ranking.

EcoFlow is the better pick if speed and expansion matter most. If you need to recharge between uses quickly, or you want a system that starts portable and grows with extra batteries toward backing up more of your home, EcoFlow's X-Stream charging and expandable DELTA line are built for that. Its wide choice of charging inputs, including a car alternator charger, also suits vanlife setups.

Before choosing, add up the wattage of the devices you plan to run and how long you need them. Jackery for grab-and-go power, EcoFlow for fast-charging systems that scale. For any connection to your home's wiring, use a licensed electrician.
