This Bizee review covers the online business formation service that was called Incfile until its rebrand. Bizee prepares and files the paperwork to form an LLC, an S corporation, a C corporation or a nonprofit in any US state, and its headline offer is a free formation package where you pay only the state's own filing fee, with a year of registered agent service included. We rank it third in our LLC registration comparison and give it our best free package award. This is an editorial assessment based on Bizee's own pages and on independent reviews. NerdBible did not form a company through Bizee for this review, and nothing here is legal or tax advice.

Bizee review: our verdict

Bizee is one of the best ways to form a simple LLC cheaply. The free Basic package genuinely covers the filing itself, includes a first year of registered agent service that many rivals charge for, and the paid tiers are one-time fees rather than annual subscriptions. Independent reviewers broadly agree it is excellent value. The things to watch are what happens after year one, when the registered agent service renews automatically at an annual fee, and the fact that useful extras such as an EIN, an operating agreement and faster filing sit in the paid tiers or cost extra. Bizee is not a law firm, so if your situation is complicated, this is a filing service, not a source of advice.

What is Bizee and who is it for?

Bizee is a document preparation and filing company. You choose an entity type and a state, answer questions about your business online, and Bizee prepares and submits the formation documents to the state, then stores them in an online dashboard. The company says it has served more than one million entrepreneurs, describes itself as founder-led, bootstrapped and independently owned, and has been operating for around two decades. Its rebrand page explains that Incfile became Bizee with the same leadership, teams, orders and services, and that existing customers log in with the same credentials.

It is designed for first-time founders, freelancers and small business owners who want an LLC or corporation on file quickly and cheaply, without paying a lawyer to do routine paperwork. NerdWallet notes that Bizee forms LLCs, S corporations, C corporations and nonprofits but does not handle sole proprietorships, general partnerships or limited partnerships.

It is not built for people who want ongoing legal guidance. Unlike some competitors, Bizee does not offer an attorney plan, and its terms state clearly that it does not provide legal, tax or accounting advice.

Key features

  • Formation filing. Preparation and filing of your articles of organization or incorporation, with unlimited business name searches.
  • Registered agent, first year included. Every state requires an LLC or corporation to have a registered agent with a physical address in the state to receive official and legal mail. Bizee includes this for the first year with every formation package. Its registered agent page also stresses the privacy benefit of keeping your home address off public filings.
  • Compliance alerts. Bizee says every formation package includes text and email reminders for important state and federal filing deadlines, and that you can choose to file yourself or have Bizee file for you.
  • Virtual address. The order form lists a first month of virtual address service with each package.
  • Online dashboard. Order status, stored documents and add-on services in one place.
  • Add-on services. EIN application, operating agreement or bylaws, banking resolutions, S corporation election filing, annual report filing, DBA filings, trademark registration, business licence research, foreign qualification, amendments and dissolution.
  • Premium extras. The top package adds expedited filing, ready-to-use business contract templates, a domain name with business email, and a first year of business phone service, which the order form says is for US-based clients only.

How much does Bizee cost? Packages explained

Our page shows prices from our own data, and the state filing fee always comes on top. The structure is three one-time packages:

  • Basic costs nothing beyond the state fee. It covers filing and state registration, the first year of registered agent service and the first month of the virtual address. NerdWallet adds that it includes a free business tax consultation.
  • Standard adds an EIN application, an operating agreement for an LLC or bylaws for a corporation, and, according to NerdWallet's breakdown, unlimited phone and email support and S corporation election filing.
  • Premium adds expedited filing, contract templates, the domain and email bundle and the business phone offer.

Two points matter more than the headline. First, these are one-time fees, while some competitors bill their packages yearly. Second, the registered agent service is not free forever. Bizee's terms explain that after the first year it renews automatically each year, charged by its registered agent partner to the card on file, unless you appoint a new agent with the state and tell Bizee before the renewal date. Bizee's own comparison page says its ongoing fee is lower than several rivals'.

You can also buy individual services on top of Basic instead of upgrading, which NerdWallet considers competitively priced.

Is Bizee legit? Trust, support and cancellation

Bizee is a long-running, legitimate company. Its formation page shows a high Trustpilot score from tens of thousands of reviews, and independent reviewers describe it as trustworthy and established.

Support is by phone and email on weekdays, Monday to Friday during business hours Central Time, with no weekend phone support. NerdWallet reports that unlimited phone and email support for the life of the business comes with the paid packages, and Bizee's order form also lists it outside the Basic tier.

Read the cancellation terms before you order. Bizee says an order is generally refundable only until payment is forwarded to a government agency or third party, which typically happens within about twenty-four hours, less any costs already incurred. To cancel, the order must still be in review and you have to place it on hold through the button in your confirmation email; cancellation requests by phone or email are not accepted. Once the state has been paid, the order cannot be changed or cancelled.

Bizee's terms also state that it is not a law firm, that nothing it provides creates an attorney-client relationship, and that the information on its site is general rather than specific to your business.

What could be better

  • Registered agent renewal. The free first year turns into an automatic annual charge unless you change agent. That is common in this industry, but easy to forget.
  • Basic is basic. An EIN application and an operating agreement are not in the free package. You can get an EIN yourself directly from the IRS at no cost, but many owners will want the operating agreement.
  • Faster filing costs more. Expedited filing is a Premium feature. On Basic, your filing moves at the state's normal pace, which varies widely.
  • Tight cancellation window. Refunds are limited once the state has been paid, and the cancellation process is specific.
  • No legal advice. There is no attorney access, unlike some rivals' plans.
  • Weekday-only support. Nothing at weekends, and several reviewers found it took more than one attempt to reach someone by phone.

Who should choose something else

If you want legal advice alongside formation, a service with an attorney plan is a better fit. If you are comfortable reading your state's instructions, you can file directly with your secretary of state, act as your own registered agent where that suits you, and apply for an EIN yourself, which is cheaper still, at the cost of your time and your home address appearing on public records. If you want a registered agent known for privacy and support above all, competitors that specialise in that service may suit you better. And if your business has several owners, outside investors or an unusual structure, a template-driven online filing may simply be the wrong starting point.

Is Bizee worth it? Bottom line

Yes, for straightforward formations. Bizee's free package is among the most complete in the market, the paid tiers are reasonably priced one-time fees, and the company has a long track record. That combination is why it earns our best free package award. Treat the registered agent renewal as a known future cost, decide up front whether you need the EIN and operating agreement in Standard, and do not expect legal guidance. With those points covered, it is an easy way to get a simple company on file.

What other reviewers found

  • NerdWallet's Bizee review describes it as an easy and affordable way to form an entity, likes its one-time fees and low-cost add-ons, and notes that it offers no legal advice and keeps lifetime phone and email support for paid plans.
  • NerdWallet's best LLC services list names Bizee its best overall LLC service for straightforward packages, reachable support and the free registered agent year, while listing the lack of weekend support as a drawback.
  • LLC University calls it a decent budget option with fast processing and reasonable add-ons, but criticises the strict refund policy, mediocre phone support and limited value in the top tier.
  • TRUiC rates Bizee a good option for budget formation, praising quick order turnaround and compliance reminders, while noting it took several calls to reach customer service.
  • NerdWallet's comparison with LegalZoom concludes Bizee suits low-cost formation and compliance, while LegalZoom suits owners who need attorney access.

The reviewers agree on the core: Bizee is strong value, its free package is real, and its first-year registered agent service is a standout. They disagree on support. NerdWallet treats it as a strength, while LLC University and TRUiC describe hold times and uneven depth of knowledge. They also differ on the top package, which some see as good value and others as unnecessary. For a buyer, that suggests starting with Basic or Standard, adding only the services you need, and expecting self-service rather than hand-holding.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bizee really free?

The Basic package has no Bizee service fee, so you pay only the filing fee your state charges. It includes formation filing, a first year of registered agent service and a first month of virtual address. After the first year, the registered agent service renews automatically at an annual fee unless you appoint a different agent. Extras such as an EIN application or operating agreement come with the paid packages or as add-ons.

Is Bizee the same company as Incfile?

Yes. Bizee's own rebrand page says Incfile has become Bizee, with the same leadership, teams, products and services. Existing accounts, orders, documents and compliance alerts carried over unchanged, and former Incfile customers log in to the Bizee dashboard with their existing username and password. Independent reviewers also confirm that pricing and services stayed the same after the name change.

How long does it take Bizee to form an LLC?

Bizee prepares and submits orders quickly, and reviewers report filings going out within about one business day. The total time depends mostly on your state, because each state processes filings at its own pace, and Bizee publishes state filing times on its site. Expedited filing is included in the Premium package if speed matters. Check your state's typical turnaround before you order.

Can I cancel a Bizee order and get a refund?

Bizee says orders are generally refundable only until it pays the state or another third party, which usually happens within about twenty-four hours, less any costs already incurred. The order must still be in review, and you place it on hold through the button in your confirmation email. Cancellation requests by phone or email are not accepted, and once the state has been paid the order cannot be cancelled.

Does Bizee give legal advice?

No. Bizee states that it is not a law firm, does not provide legal, tax or accounting advice, and that using its services does not create an attorney-client relationship. It files documents at your direction and offers general information on its website. If your company has several owners, investors or complex tax questions, speak to a qualified attorney or accountant before you file.
