Questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. The image is resized by your browser on your device and the new file is created there too.

Why does a shrunk image stay sharp?

Big reductions are done in steps, halving the size each time before the final size. Jumping straight from a large photo to a small one skips pixels and looks jagged.

Can I make an image bigger?

Yes, but enlarging cannot add detail that was never there, so a much larger copy will look soft. For a sharp result, start from the largest original you have.

Which format should I pick?

JPG for photos, PNG for screenshots, logos and anything with transparency, and WebP when you want a smaller file for a website. JPG has no transparency, so clear areas turn white.
