Case Converter & Slug

UPPER, lower, Title, camelCase, snake_case and URL slugs.

Free. Runs in your browser: nothing you enter or open is uploaded.

Every style updates as you type. For the code styles and the slug, each line is converted on its own, so you can paste a list of names.

Title Case keeps short words such as a, and, of and the in lower case unless they start or end the title, and leaves words that already mix capitals (iPhone, NASA) as they are. The slug drops accents (café becomes cafe) and keeps only a to z, 0 to 9 and hyphens.

    How to use it

    1. Type or paste text into the box.
    2. Every case style is shown below at once, from UPPER CASE to snake_case and a URL slug.
    3. Press Copy next to the style you need.

    Questions

What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

Both join words without spaces and capitalise each new word. camelCase starts with a lower case letter (userName), PascalCase starts with a capital (UserName). JavaScript variables usually use camelCase and class names PascalCase.

    When should I use snake_case or kebab-case?

snake_case is common for Python variables and database columns. kebab-case is used for URLs, CSS class names and file names. CONSTANT_CASE is the convention for constants in most languages.

What makes a good URL slug?

Short, lower case, words separated by hyphens and no accents or special characters. Leaving out filler words such as the or and keeps it shorter, which you can do by editing the text first.

Does Title Case follow a style guide?

It follows the rule most guides share: capitalise every word except short articles, conjunctions and prepositions, and always capitalise the first and last word. Check your house style for edge cases.
