Schema Markup Generator
Build JSON-LD structured data for FAQ, how-to, article, product, business, breadcrumb and event pages.
Free tools that run in your browser. Nothing you type, open or create is uploaded to NerdBible or anyone else.
To check it, open Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator in a new tab, choose the code option and paste the markup there.
The markup is built in your browser as you type and nothing is sent anywhere. Empty fields are left out of the output. Valid markup makes a page eligible for rich results, it does not guarantee them: Google decides what to show. Google now shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health sites, and no longer shows How-to rich results at all, though the markup is still valid and other search engines and AI tools can read it. Only mark up content that is visible on the page.
How to use it
- Pick the type of markup that matches your page.
- Fill in the fields. Add or remove rows for questions, steps, breadcrumbs or opening hours.
- Copy the finished script tag and paste it into the page, usually in the head or just before the closing body tag.
- Paste the same markup into Google's Rich Results Test to check it.
Questions
What is schema markup?
Structured data in the Schema.org vocabulary that tells search engines what a page is about, such as a product's price or an event's date. JSON-LD is the format Google recommends, a script block that sits apart from the visible page.
Where do I put the JSON-LD script?
Anywhere in the HTML of the page, usually in the head. Most content systems have a field or plugin for custom head code. It does not change how the page looks.
Will this get my page rich results?
It makes the page eligible. Google decides whether to show a rich result based on its own rules, the quality of the page and whether the markup matches what visitors see.
Can I add more than one type to a page?
Yes. Generate each type separately and paste each script tag into the page, for example an Article and a BreadcrumbList on the same blog post.
About this tool
About the schema markup generator
Schema markup is structured data that tells search engines what a page contains: the price of a product, the date of an event, the questions on a help page. This generator writes it as JSON-LD, the format Google recommends, from a simple form.
Pick a type, fill in the fields and the markup updates as you type, wrapped in a script tag ready to paste into your page. Empty fields are left out, so the output stays clean.
- Eight types: FAQ page, how-to, article or blog post, product with offer and rating, organisation, local business with address and opening hours, breadcrumbs and events.
- Repeating rows: add, remove and reorder questions, steps, breadcrumb levels and opening hours.
- Built-in checks: the tool points out missing fields that Google needs, such as a product price or an event location.
Valid markup makes a page eligible for rich results but never guarantees them, and it should only describe what visitors can see on the page. Paste the result into Google's Rich Results Test to confirm it. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
