QR codes are made in your browser with qrcode-generator by Kazuhiko Arase (MIT licence). They never expire and do not pass through any tracking link. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE.

How to use it

  1. Choose what the code should hold: a link or text, a Wi-Fi login, a contact card, an email or a text message.
  2. Fill in the fields. The preview updates as you type; scan it with your phone camera to check it.
  3. Pick the size and colours, then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print.

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The information is stored in the code itself, not behind a short link on someone else's server, so it keeps working for as long as the printed code exists.

Which error correction level should I choose?

Medium suits most uses. Choose High if the code will be printed small, may get scuffed, or will have a logo placed over its centre. Higher levels make the pattern denser.

Why will my coloured code not scan?

Scanners need a dark code on a light background with strong contrast. Light codes on dark backgrounds and pale colours often fail. The tool warns you when the contrast is too low.

Is the Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?

No. The code is drawn by your browser on your device. Remember that anyone who scans the printed code can join the network.
