When to use it

The registered trademark sign, for marks registered with a trademark office; unregistered marks use ™. Many fonts draw it at full cap height, so it is often set smaller with or CSS font-size.

The name dates from HTML 4, so it works in every browser and in old email clients.

Browsers also accept the legacy form &REG without a semicolon, for compatibility with old pages; new HTML should always end the reference with a semicolon.

This character also has an emoji form: ®️ Registered. Add U+FE0F after it for the emoji style or U+FE0E for the text style.
