Mock JSON Generator
Fake test data in JSON.
Free. Runs in your browser: nothing you enter or open is uploaded.
All data is made up in your browser from built in word lists. Names are common first and last names combined at random, email addresses use the reserved example.com domain, phone numbers use the 555 01xx range set aside for fiction, and IP addresses come from the documentation ranges, so nothing points to a real person or system. With a seed, the same settings always give the same data.
How to use it
- Add the fields you need, name each one and choose its type, with a range or a list of values where it applies.
- Set how many records you want, up to 1,000, and pick JSON, JSON lines or CSV.
- Press Generate, then copy or download the data. Enter a seed to get the same data every time.
Questions
Is any of this real personal data?
No. First and last names are drawn separately from lists of common names and joined at random, and every email uses example.com, a domain reserved for examples that cannot receive mail.
What does the seed do?
It makes the output repeatable. Type any word or number and the same fields and record count always produce exactly the same data, which helps when tests compare against saved results.
Can I make nested JSON?
Name a field with dots, such as address.city, and it is placed inside an address object in JSON output. CSV keeps the dotted name as the column header.
How do I get a value from a fixed list?
Choose the One of a list type and type the values separated by commas, such as active, paused, cancelled.
