When to use it
	 is the tab (U+0009). In normal HTML text it collapses into a single space like any whitespace; it only shows as a tab inside <pre>, <textarea> or with CSS white-space: pre, where tab-size sets its width (8 by default).
The name comes from the HTML5 list (much of it shared with MathML), so it works in every current browser but not in XML or XHTML served as XML, where the numeric reference is the safe choice.
It has no visible shape of its own, which is why the box above shows it with a tinted background.
