Questions

What is a good typing speed?

Around 40 words a minute is typical for people who type every day. 60 to 80 is fast, and professional typists often reach 90 or more. Accuracy above 95% matters more than raw speed.

How is words per minute calculated?

The number of correctly typed characters, including spaces, is divided by five and then by the minutes taken. Using five characters as a word makes results fair across short and long words.

How can I type faster?

Practise for a few minutes every day, keep your fingers on the home row, and look at the screen instead of the keyboard. Slow down until you make few mistakes; speed comes with practice.

Is my typing sent anywhere?

No. Everything is measured in your browser. Pasting is blocked in the typing box so the results stay honest.
