The link holds the date, time zone and label after the # in the address, so it is never sent to a server. Anyone who opens it sees the same moment counted down in their own time.

How to use it

  1. Type what you are counting down to, then pick the date and time.
  2. Choose the time zone the moment belongs to, for example the city where an event takes place.
  3. Press Copy link to share the countdown, or Full screen to show it on a big screen.

Questions

Will my friends see the right time in another country?

Yes. The countdown is fixed to the time zone you choose, so everyone counts down to the same moment, and the page also shows when that is in their own local time.

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. The date and time are converted with the time zone rules built into your browser, including summer time changes.

What happens when the countdown ends?

It stops at zero and says the moment has arrived, then shows how long ago it was.
