Time Zone Meeting Planner

Pick the time zones of everyone in the meeting and the working hours, and the hours that suit all of them are marked.

Free tools that run in your browser. Nothing you type, open or create is uploaded to NerdBible or anyone else.

Offsets and daylight saving dates come from your browser's own time zone database, so they follow the official rules for the date you pick. Your list of time zones is remembered in this browser only.

    How to use it

    1. Choose the time zone the time is in, then the date and time, or leave Use the current time ticked for a live clock.
    2. Add the cities or time zones you need. Each row shows the local time, the date and the offset from UTC.
    3. Open Meeting planner, pick 2 to 6 of your time zones and set the working hours. Hours that fall inside working hours everywhere are marked; click one to convert it.
    4. Open Military time to turn 1430 into 2:30 pm or the other way round, with the way it is spoken.

    Questions

How does the meeting planner pick good times?

It checks each hour of the day against the working hours you set in every chosen zone. Only hours that fall inside working hours everywhere are marked as good for everyone.

Does it allow for daylight saving time?

Yes. Each zone's offset is calculated for the date you choose, so the result stays right around the clock changes.

How many time zones can I compare?

Between 2 and 6. Add the cities where the people in the meeting are.

    About this tool

Finding an hour that works for everyone

The planner lays out each hour of the meeting day in the time zone you are planning from, with the matching local time in every other zone underneath. An hour is marked as good only when it falls inside working hours in all of them.

    • 2 to 6 time zones. Choose cities rather than abbreviations: CST means different things in the US, China and Cuba, while America/Chicago is never ambiguous.
    • Your working hours. Set the start and end of the working day; the planner remembers your zones and hours in this browser.
    • Daylight saving included. Offsets are worked out for the exact date, which matters in late March and late October, when Europe and North America change their clocks on different weekends.

    When no hour fits

With teams spread from California to India or Australia, there may be no hour inside everyone's working day. Widen the working hours a little, or rotate the early and late slot so the same people are not always the ones on a call at night.

The date and the planning zone come from the Converter tab.
