Meme & Caption Maker
Add top and bottom captions or free text to any image.
Free tools that run in your browser. Nothing you type, open or create is uploaded to NerdBible or anyone else.
No picture?
Drag the extra text boxes on the picture to place them. With the picture focused, arrow keys move the selected box (hold Shift for bigger steps).
Extra text boxes
Captions use the classic heavy meme lettering with a black outline, drawn with fonts already on your device (Impact where it is installed, otherwise the heaviest similar font available), so it may look slightly different on a phone than on a computer. Only use images you have the right to share.
How to use it
- Choose or drop an image, or start with a blank square.
- Type the top and bottom captions; long text wraps onto more lines by itself.
- Add extra text boxes if you need them and drag them into place on the picture.
- Pick JPG or PNG and press Download.
Questions
Is my image uploaded?
No. The meme is drawn by your browser on your device and saved from there. There is no watermark added.
Why does the font look different on my phone?
The tool uses fonts already installed on your device instead of downloading one. Impact is on most Windows and Mac computers; phones fall back to the closest heavy font they have.
How do I move a caption with the keyboard?
Select a text box with its Select button, then focus the picture (press Tab until it is outlined) and use the arrow keys. Typing in the text fields is never affected.
Which format should I save as?
JPG makes smaller files for photos and is accepted everywhere. PNG keeps edges perfectly sharp, which suits screenshots and drawings.
