Choose a PDF to start.
PNG keeps text and lines crisp; JPG makes much smaller files and suits scanned pages and photos. 150 DPI is plenty for reading on screen; 300 DPI is print quality, and each page then takes far more memory, so a long document is best done in parts on a phone.
How to use it
- Choose or drop a PDF.
- Pick PNG or JPG and a resolution, and optionally the pages you want, such as 1-3, 5.
- Press Convert pages, then download each image or all of them in one ZIP file.
Questions
What DPI should I choose for PDF to JPG?
150 DPI for viewing on screens and sharing, 300 DPI if the images will be printed. Higher DPI means sharper pages and larger files.
Can I convert only some pages?
Yes. Type the pages you want, such as 2 or 1-3, 7, and only those are converted.
Why does text look slightly blurry in the JPG?
JPG compression is made for photos and can soften sharp edges. Raise the quality, increase the DPI, or switch the format to PNG for text-heavy pages.
About this tool
When JPG is the right format for PDF pages
JPG makes small files and opens everywhere, which suits scanned documents, pages full of photos and anything you will post or message. Pages that are mostly sharp text and line drawings can show faint smudges around the letters in JPG; PNG keeps those crisp.
- Resolution. 150 DPI is plenty for reading on a screen. Choose 300 DPI for printing; each page then has four times as many pixels and a bigger file.
- Quality. The JPG quality slider runs from 40 to 100. 85 is a good balance; raise it for small print.
- Pages. Leave the box empty for every page, or type ranges such as 1-3, 5.
How it works
The pages are drawn by pdf.js, a PDF reader that runs inside your browser, and saved as images on your device. A long document at 300 DPI uses a lot of memory, so on a phone convert it in parts. Password protected PDFs need to be opened and saved without the password first.
