ZIP Viewer & Creator
Open a ZIP or make one from files.
Free tools that run in your browser. Nothing you type, open or create is uploaded to NerdBible or anyone else.
No files added yet.
Everything happens in your browser memory, so very large archives (over about 500 MB) may fail on phones and older computers. Password protected ZIP files cannot be opened here.
How to use it
- To open a ZIP, choose or drop it: every file and folder inside is listed with its size.
- Preview text and image files, save single files, or extract everything at once.
- To make a ZIP, switch to Create a ZIP, add files or a folder, pick the compression and press Create ZIP.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The ZIP is read and written by your browser on your device. Your files are never sent to NerdBible or anyone else.
How does Extract all work?
In Chrome and Edge on a computer you choose a folder and every file is written into it, keeping the folder structure. Other browsers download the files one after another, so for big archives your system file manager is quicker.
Which compression should I pick?
Normal suits most files. Photos, videos, PDFs and other ZIPs are already compressed, so the tool stores those as they are whatever you choose, which saves time without making the archive bigger.
Can it open RAR, 7z or password protected ZIPs?
No. It reads standard ZIP files, including large ZIP64 archives, but not other archive formats or encrypted ZIPs.
About this tool
About the ZIP viewer and creator
ZIP files are the usual way to send a bundle of files, but phones and locked-down work computers do not always open them easily. This tool reads and writes ZIP archives in the browser.

- Preview text and image files without extracting anything.
- Save single files, or extract everything at once. In Chrome and Edge on a computer you pick a folder and the whole structure is written into it; other browsers download the files one after another.
Creating a ZIP
