Sign a PDF
Draw or type a signature and place it on a page.
Free tools that run in your browser. Nothing you type, open or create is uploaded to NerdBible or anyone else.
1. Make your signature
Sign a sheet of white paper with a dark pen and take a sharp, well lit photo of it.
2. Place it on the page
Click or tap the page where the signature should go. Drag it to move it and drag its corner to resize it. With a keyboard, focus the signature and use the arrow keys to move it and + or - to resize it.
This adds a simple visual signature: a picture of your signature drawn onto the page. It is not a certified digital signature and does not prove who signed or that the file was not changed afterwards. For contracts that need a legally binding, verifiable e-signature with an audit trail, use e-signature software.
How to use it
- Choose or drop the PDF you need to sign.
- Draw your signature, type your name in a handwriting style or upload a photo of your signature.
- Click the page to place it, move and resize it, add the date if you like, then press Sign and download.
Questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened, signed and saved by your browser on your device. Neither the document nor your signature is sent to NerdBible or anyone else.
Is this signature legally binding?
A picture of a signature is accepted for many everyday forms, but it does not prove who signed. For contracts where that matters, use an e-signature service that records identity and an audit trail, and adds a certified digital signature.
Can I sign more than one page?
Yes. Move to another page with the arrow buttons and click it to place the same signature there too. Every page you sign is saved in the one file.
Can the signature be removed later?
It is drawn into the page content, so it cannot simply be clicked away in a normal PDF reader. Keep your unsigned original if you may need it again.
About this tool
About signing a PDF
Printing a form just to sign it and scan it back is slow. This tool places your signature straight onto the PDF so you can return it in a minute.
Three ways to sign
- Draw with a mouse, trackpad or finger.
- Type your name and pick a handwriting style.
- Upload a photo of your signature on white paper.
Click the page to place the signature, then move and resize it. Add the date if the form asks for it. To sign several pages, move to each page and click again; every signed page is saved in one file.
What kind of signature this is
This adds a visual signature: a picture of your signature drawn into the page. It is widely used for everyday forms, but it is not a certified digital signature and does not by itself prove who signed or that the document was not changed afterwards. Where that matters, use e-signature software that records identity and keeps an audit trail.
Keep your original
The signature becomes part of the page content and cannot be clicked away in a normal PDF reader, so keep an unsigned copy if you may need it again.
The document and your signature stay on your device and are never sent to NerdBible or anyone else.
