SVG to PNG Converter

Choose SVG files, set the width in pixels, and each one is drawn and saved as a transparent PNG on your device.

Free tools that run in your browser. Nothing you type, open or create is uploaded to NerdBible or anyone else.

Choose one or more images to start. Nothing is uploaded.

Same format compresses each image and keeps its type. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP to convert every image to that format instead. Up to 50 images at a time.

    How to use it

    1. Choose or drop one or more images.
    2. Keep Same format to make the files smaller, or choose JPG, PNG or WebP to convert them.
    3. Set the quality (70 to 80 suits photos) and, if you like, a max width: large photos shrink, smaller ones are never enlarged. For JPG, pick the colour that fills transparent areas; for SVG files, the width of the picture.
    4. Check the result for each file and download them one by one or all together.

    Questions

What size will the PNG be?

As wide as the SVG width you set, 1024 pixels by default, with the height scaled to keep the proportions. Change the width and the file is drawn again.

Why does the text in my PNG look different?

If the SVG uses a font that is not on your device and the text was not converted to outlines, the browser substitutes a similar font. Outline the text in your design program to lock it.

    Is the background transparent?

Yes, unless the SVG draws its own background. Empty areas stay transparent in the PNG.

    About this tool

    From vector to pixels

An SVG is a set of drawing instructions, so it stays sharp at any size. A PNG is a fixed grid of pixels. Converting means choosing how many pixels wide the PNG should be; the height follows the SVG's own proportions.

    • Pick the width for the job. The default is 1024 pixels. For a high-density screen, use two or three times the size it will be shown at.
    • Transparency is kept. Areas the SVG leaves empty stay transparent in the PNG.
    • Fonts can change. Text in an SVG is drawn with fonts installed on your device unless the text was converted to outlines, so an unusual font may be replaced.
    • External files are skipped. Browsers do not load images or fonts linked from outside an SVG drawn this way, so embed them first.

    Why convert

Many places still refuse SVG: social networks, office documents, some email clients and app stores. A PNG at the right size works in all of them. Keep the SVG as your master file and export a fresh PNG whenever you need a new size.
